A misconception on building flexible and agile organizations

One of the most common management misconceptions in large companies is the one related to building flexible and agile organizations. Every manager is opting for more flexibility and agility within their organizations, but when faced with one of the basic preconditions, which is the delayering of the structure, they realize that their turf and power might be diminished. All of a sudden, this idea does not look so good anymore. This is one of the largest barriers to organizational development and transformation.
