Comprehensive strategic planning is simply not good enough

Comprehensive strategic planning is simply not good enough to make an organization viable in the long run. The complexity and dynamics of the global environment are not allowing organizations to develop plans and execute them accordingly. On the other hand, organizations are forced to exercise planning more than ever in order to be prepared for any conceivable scenario. In the words of Dwight D. Eisenhower “In preparing for battle, I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.”
