Business Architecture as a prerequisite for digital transformation
Numerous large companies are trying to achieve digital transformation through a series of digital initiatives. Even though some short-term results will probably be achieved, doing experiments without a road map or sense of direction will not make a desired impact in the long run. In order to embark on the digital transformation journey, companies first need to invest resources and time into a proper business architecture development. Only then, a holistic AS-IS assessment may begin (with the business capabilities in center), followed by defining a digital TO-BE business model and a strategy for reaching it. So, the best advice I could give to the management of a company starting its digital journey? Start working on the business architecture!
